Directorate of Instruction – CAU, Imphal
The Directorate of Instruction was established in 2005 in accordance with the Central Agricultural University Act, 1992 (No.40 Of 1992) wherein the Director of Instruction is responsible for planning, co-ordination and supervision for all educational programmes in the various faculties of the University. The Directorate strives for quality improvement of education hence its various functions includes planning and academic coordination for teaching, quality of education, policy matters and system regarding resident instruction, overseeing the examination and evaluation, development and enforcement of curricula, development of educational technology and teachers’ training programmeto develop competence and qualified human resource, HRD of faculty, collaboration with national and international universities/institutes for academic excellence etc. Falling in line with the policies of the University and ICAR, the curricula and syllabi are revised periodically. Revision of syllabus and introduction of new courses are done based on the emerging needs. Special coaching programmes are arranged in all the constituent colleges to facilitate good performance of students in the annual NET/JRF/GATE/ARS and other national level examinations.

+ To supervise and co-coordinate the academic activities of various faculties of the University.
+ To improve the educational standards of the University.
+ To collaborate with national and international universities/institutes in the area of agricultural & allied sciences for academic excellence.
+ To co-ordinate and organize Sports and Cultural activities at University level.
+ To conduct ‘Soft Skills and Personality Development’ programmes for students of constituent colleges of Central Agricultural University.
+ To encourage and recommend the faculty members for capacity building programmes in different disciplines.
