Scientific children’s booklet contest based on WSD 2024 theme: “Caring for Soils: Measure, Manage, Monitor” In celebration of World Soil Day (WSD) 2024, the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, the International Union of Soil Science and the Global Soil Partnership launched a scientific children’s booklet contest based on WSD 2024 theme: “Caring for Soils: Measure, Manage, Monitor”. The booklet was intended for children aged between 6 to 11 years old. The contest was open to soil scientists, researchers, professors, teachers, individual students, soil practitioners, designers, photographers or experts around the globe for popularizing the importance of soil to the children. In this regard, a short booklet entitled “Grow Crop with Love: Ria’s Journey with Soil Squad from Barren Land to Fertile Land” was submitted by Dr. Sabyasachi Majumdar, Assistant Professor, CCS, CAU(I), Tura and Prof. Dwipendra Thakuria, Dean, CPGSAS, CAU(I), Umiam and it was shortlisted as well as uploaded on the FAO website by FAO-UN among more than 100 booklets received this year
