National Symposium on “Threads of Heritage: Exploring Textiles and Natural Fibres” at CCS, Tura, Meghalaya
On 28th January 2024, The College of Community Science, CAU (Imphal), Tura, organized a National Symposium on “Threads of Heritage: Exploring Textiles and Natural Fibres” at CCS, Tura, Meghalaya. The event was inaugurated by Shri Conrad K. Sangma, Honourable Chief Minister of Meghalaya. Smt. Archana Chitnis, MLA from Madhya Pradesh, and Shri Atul Jain, General Secretary, Deendayal Research Institute, attended as Guests of Honour. Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, CAU (Imphal), presided over the session. The program featured speeches, a publication release, and a felicitation ceremony for artisans and farmers. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of preserving traditional textiles. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Anupama Mishra, Professor & Head, Dept. of Textile and Apparel Designing.
