Celebrating 25th National Fish Farmers’ Day (10 July 2025)! 

College of Fisheries, CAU (Imphal), in collaboration with NESFA, India, marked this special day at its Lembucherra campus, honouring the legacy of Induced Breeding Technology (1957) by Dr. Hiralal Chaudhury & Dr. K. H. Alikunhi.

Shri Sudhangshu Das, Hon’ble Minister (Tripura), graced the occasion as Chief Guest, inaugurated the Exhibition-cum-Tech Showcase, and urged farmers to adopt scientific fish farming.

Over 200 fish farmers participated. Progressive farmers from 7 NE states were felicitated as “Best Fish Farmer”, and inputs distributed. The event also featured an interactive workshop on “Innovative Technologies for Boosting Fish Production in NER.”
