➢ Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India Shri Narendra Singh Tomar ji inaugurated Administrative cum Academic Block and Girls’ Hostel of College of Agriculture, Kyrdemkulai, Central Agricultural University (Imphal) on 5th January, 2023.
➢ In this programme, Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, CAU, Imphal; Dr. Suresh Kumar Chowdhary, Deputy Director General, Natural Resource Management, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi; Shri Sibhi Chakravarthy Sadhu, Agriculture Secretary, Government of Meghalaya, Shri K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, NEC, Shillong; Dr. S. Basanta Singh, Director of Instruction, CAU, Imphal; Prof. Ph. Ranjit Sharma, Director of Extension Education, CAU, Imphal; Prof. Mayank Rai, Dean, CPGS-AS, Umiam, Barapani; Dr. U.K. Behera, Dean, College of Agriculture, Kyrdemkulai, Meghalaya; A. K. Singha, Director, ATARI-Zone VII; all the Deans of constituent colleges of CAU, Imphal were present.
➢ This event was graced by the presence of more than 100 farmers, line department officers, faculty members, students & staffs of both the colleges of CAU, Imphal located at Meghalaya and Print & Electronics personals.
➢ Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of the Central Agricultural University, Imphal welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries.
➢ Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India Shri Narendra Singh Tomar ji addressed the gathering and said that I am feeling happy to know that the College of Agriculture, Kirdemkulai, Meghalaya has developed integrated farming system and natural farming system models which is very beneficial for the farming community. Organic and natural farming produces of Northeast India have unique qualities and have great demand in the international markets.
➢ The presence of more than 100 farmers, cooperation of line department officials, media personnals and hard work of the teachers, staff and students made this programme a grand success. At the end of the programme, 1000 poultry chicks, pig feeds, milking cans, farm tools, different types of vegetable seeds, planting materials of Assam Lemon, Black pepper etc. were distributed to 120 farmers of Meghalaya.
