The International Conference on “Harnessing the Potential of Organic and Natural Farming for Sustainable Agriculture” was inaugurated at the College of Horticulture, Bermiok, under Central Agricultural University, Imphal, in the esteemed presence of Dr. Pradeep Kumar Joshi, Hon’ble Chancellor, who presided over the programme as Chief Guest, and Dr. Anupam Mishra, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, as Guest of Honour. The inaugural session was further graced by eminent dignitaries including Padma Shri awardee Dr. Eklabya Sharma, Strategic Advisor and Senior Fellow at Ashoka Trust for Research on Ecology and Environment; Dr. N. C. Gautam, former Vice Chancellor, MGCGV, Satna, Madhya Pradesh; Dr. Santanu Kumar Swain, Vice Chancellor, Sikkim University; Dr. Hardeo Singh Yadav, Vice Chancellor, Sikkim Professional University; and Prof. A. K. Pandey, Dean, College of Horticulture, Bermiok. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from scientists, academicians, farmers, and students, marking a significant beginning to the conference.
