Dr. Mangi Lal Jat, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), inaugurated the Live Demonstration and Exhibition organized as part of the National Conclave on “Weaving India Together: Natural Fibres, Innovation and Livelihoods from the North East and Beyond.” The exhibition showcased the creativity and craftsmanship of 75 artisans, weavers, and entrepreneurs from the North East and other regions of India, reflecting the nation’s rich cultural and natural fibre diversity.

A captivating Fashion Show titled “Ramp of Culture” and a Cultural Programme were organized following the inaugural ceremony of the National Conclave on “Weaving India Together: Natural Fibres, Innovation and Livelihoods from the North East and Beyond.”

The National Conclave on “Weaving India Together: Natural Fibres, Innovation and Livelihoods from the North East and Beyond” was inaugurated today in a grand ceremony graced by Shri Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs, as the Chief Guest. The event also featured Dr. Rajbir Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR; Shri Atul Jain, Vice Chairman, Deendayal Research Institute (DRI), New Delhi; and Dr. Mridula Thakur Pradhan, Chairperson, Vikas Foundation Trust, as Guests of Honour.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the students of the College of Community Science (CAU-I), Tura organised a cleanliness drive under the campaign “Swachhata Hi Seva” on 2nd October to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of cleanliness and sanitation. A total of 82 students, along with faculty members and volunteers, participated enthusiastically. The programme began with a short speech on Gandhiji’s vision of a clean India, followed by group-wise cleaning activities in the campus and nearby surroundings, including the multipurpose shed, college garage and nursery-school garden. The event encouraged responsibility, teamwork and reinforced Gandhiji’s message that “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.”

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti 2025, the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, Nagaland, observed Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign to honor the vision of Mahatma Gandhi and his lifelong commitment to cleanliness, dignity of labor, and community service.

The college of Agriculture, Pasighat celebrated 156th Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd Oct. 2025 by observing social service camp to pay tributes to Father of the Nation. Prof. Sanjay swami, Dean, faculties and all the staffs were participated in the cleaning drive.

Shri Chau Zingnu Namchoom, Hon’ble MLA, Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, along with District Planning Officer and Executive Engineer, PWD Namsai, visited the College of Fisheries, CAU (I), Lembucherra, Tripura on April 9, 2025. The delegation was briefed by Prof. A. B. Patel, Dean of the College, on ongoing academic and research initiatives. Shri Namchoom interacted with faculty members commending the institution’s hands-on approach to fisheries education and its contribution to the development of the North East region. On 28th January 2025, The College of Community Science, CAU (Imphal), Tura, organized a National Symposium on “Threads of Heritage: Exploring Textiles and Natural Fibres” at CPGSAS,Umiam, Meghalaya. The event was inaugurated by Shri Conrad K. Sangma, Honourable Chief Minister of Meghalaya. Smt. Archana Chitnis, MLA from Madhya Pradesh, and Shri Atul Jain, General Secretary, Deendayal Research Institute, attended as Guests of Honour. Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, CAU (Imphal), presided over the session. The program featured speeches, a publication release, and a felicitation ceremony for artisans and farmers.
